Darren started his carrier in 1999 upon completion of his Bachelor of Commerce Degree from Dalhousie University, and joined a large multi-national insurance company as an Underwriter Trainee. After 6 years working for that company in underwriting, marketing, and management, he joined the family business in May of 2005 as Vice President. In June of 2018, Darren purchased the business from his father Bruce, and is our current President. He has grown up around the business, has watched it grow and develop, and has a broad understanding of the challenges and solutions of being a small business owner. Darren is a true people person, and enjoys working with clients to develop solutions that work for them. As a community minded professional, Darren is Past President of the Insurance Brokers Association of Nova Scotia (IBANS), Past Chair of the Bridgewater Development Association (BDA), and has been involved in various community projects over time. He is currently Chair of the Insurance Brokers Association of Nova Scotia, a Director of the Insurance Brokers Association of Canada (IBAC) representing Nova Scotia, and a Commissioner of the Bridgewater Board of Police Commissioners. Darren is a dad of two, and husband, and a hockey coach; and a tried and true car guy! When he is not in the office, he enjoys time with family and friends, and taking a drive on a nice day with his wife Amanda. He looks forward to working with you!
